Refund Policy
Rigging is bespoke work produced to your specification, so refunds follow the milestone structure of the engagement. This page sets out exactly what is refundable and when.
Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]. Issued by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. All refund correspondence goes to info@kinetos.shop.
1. Scope
This policy applies to bespoke services: body rigs, facial systems, MetaHuman extension, deformation budgeting, pipeline automation, audits and retainers. It supplements our Terms of Service and any signed statement of work.
2. Deposits
- The deposit reserves studio capacity and covers specification work. It is refundable in full if you cancel within [DEPOSIT COOLING-OFF PERIOD] of payment and before the rig specification has been delivered.
- After the rig specification is delivered, the deposit is non-refundable because the work it pays for has been performed and handed over.
3. Milestone payments
- Accepted milestones are not refundable — the deliverable is yours to keep and use.
- If you cancel mid-milestone, we invoice the proportion of that milestone completed and refund the remainder of any prepayment within [REFUND PROCESSING PERIOD] of the cancellation date.
- Work in progress at cancellation is delivered in its current state on request.
4. Defects come before refunds
If a deliverable does not conform to the approved rig specification, our first obligation is to correct it at no charge within the warranty period. A refund is considered only where a material non-conformity remains after [NUMBER OF REMEDIATION ATTEMPTS] documented remediation attempts, or where we cannot deliver the specified system at all. In that case we refund the fees paid for the affected deliverable.
5. What is not refundable
- Change of creative direction, cancelled productions or shifted internal priorities.
- Rework caused by replaced input assets, changed topology, a changed target engine, or capture data that differs from what was specified.
- Delays caused by unavailable reviewers, late assets or unsigned approvals.
- Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf and non-cancellable reserved capacity.
- Retainer capacity for a period already elapsed or already reserved within notice.
6. Retainers
Retainers are billed per period and may be cancelled with [RETAINER NOTICE PERIOD] written notice. Unused hours within a period do not roll over and are not refundable unless the statement of work says otherwise.
7. How to request a refund
- Email info@kinetos.shop with the project name, invoice number, the deliverable concerned and a description of the issue, including files or capture that demonstrate it.
- We acknowledge within [ACKNOWLEDGEMENT PERIOD] working days and issue a written decision within [DECISION PERIOD] working days.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within [REFUND PROCESSING PERIOD]. Bank or processor charges and currency movement are not reimbursed.
8. Effect of a refund
Where a deliverable is refunded, the licence and any ownership transfer for that deliverable ends and you agree to stop using and to delete the affected rig files and derived assets.
9. Statutory rights and law
This policy does not limit any non-waivable rights you have under [GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION]. Business-to-business engagements are not consumer contracts, and statutory consumer withdrawal rights under [CONSUMER LAW REFERENCE] do not apply to them.
